When two of Britain’s most celebrated stars collide, you should expect celestial beauty of epic proportion. Damien Hirst, the controversial but unequivocally influential artist, and Alexander McQueen, the celebrated fashion house who dressed the Princess bride,  have collaborated on an exclusive scarf collection which was released under a week ago.

The partnership celebrates the 10year anniversary of the cult Alexander McQueen skull scarf, the signature accessory of the fashion house. A collection of 30 scarves fuse the house’s iconic skulls with designs from Hirst’s ‘Entomology’ exhibition.

If you headed to The Tate last summer you would have been delighted with a carefully curated exhibition of insects and butterflies, both alive and deceased, amongst pill boxes and taxidermy. However, it was the bejeweled platinum skull, tucked away from the rest of the exhibition, which attracted seemingly endless queues on a daily basis. Entitled “For the Love of God”, this diamond clad show-stopper was the talk of The Tate, and so in many ways it should come as no surprise that Hirst and Alexander McQueen should join forces to produce something of equal reverence together.

The scarves are without a doubt beautiful, and you can guarantee they will be wrapped around every fashionistas neck in due course – expect LFW street style photographs to feature them heavily.

A note to Santa Clause, this bloggers neck is chilly.scarfscarf2 scarf3 scarf4 scarf5 scarf6
