Another Man is the achingly hip publishing brainchild of Dazed Group’s Jefferson Hack. In its 17th issue, it always promises an alternative perspective on culture, the arts, luxury and of course menswear fashion, and so it’s hardly surprising that this week’s “If I were a boy” heralds from its pages.
Like something out of a neo-noir art house feature, I love the colours and graininess of these shots of Val Bird and Mattieu Greggoire. In all of the images Val and Mattieu wear neck ties by Contemporary Wardrobe, a brand known for suppling film and TV sets with vintage apparel and couture. From left to right, we have a gorgeous silk shirt by James Long who since LCM has been my menswear designer crush, double denim courtesy of Calvin Klein, an awesome pink shirt from Lanvin and finally a Paul Smith shirt playing peek-a-boo from underneath a trench also from Lanvin. Styling tip acquired? The neck tie worn on bare skin with an open silk shirt, more of a necklace than a polished accessory.
