When most people think about Sweden they alternate between visions of ABBA, IKEA, meatballs and leggy-six-foot-something blondes. But when I think of Sweden I think of sleek lines, loose fabrics, layers of muted tones and forward thinking functional fashion – albeit worn by leggy-six-foot-something blondes. Of late, it seems the capital of Scandinavia can do no wrong, exporting the likes of ACNE, H&M, Nudie jeans and COS to the wider public. This largely underpopulated country is a hub for design creativity and its showing no sign of stopping!

So imagine how chuffed I was to discover that Stockholm Fashion Week corresponded with my temporary relocation to Sweden (yes I’m one of those people that can finally put Stockholm/London on their twitter profiles!). I have a packed three days ahead of me with shows everyday and press talks to get me started (hopefully in English, my Swedish is in need of improvement!). In addition to checking out the trends for S/S14 I can’t wait to see what the Swedes are wearing this week – I have no doubt they’ll be putting this Girl in Menswear to shame.

Reports, round-ups and street style coming your way, but I thought I would start each day with an outfit post of my own, so here I am; Day 1 Stockholm Fashion Week: GANT Rugger Cru, ASOS Menswear skinny fit trousers, GANT slipcase, Calvin Klein watch, Russell & Bromley shoes.
