kate moss rag and bone 2Hey there fellow Europeans, how y’all doing? I’m going to assume you are currently sporting a Cheshire Cat style grin of epic proportion because the sun has got his most stylish hat on, which means Summer (yes Summer) has FINALLY arrived. Put a shrimp on the barbie and slap on some sunscreen, because for the next few weeks BBC weather predicts consistent toasty temperatures- hooray!

As I expel my knitwear to the back of my wardrobe and start locating my summer staples, there is one item of clothing I know will be my style constant, and that is the humble white tee. See, the white t-shirt is a bread and butter piece that will always score you cool points. Pair a slouchy model with tailoring and you immediately have effortless sophistication, exude Jil Sander elegance and wear a tighter model with voluminous, bright skirting, or opt for tomboy nonchalance and throw one on with dungarees and Converse – the white tee can do no wrong.

Yet despite it’s versatility, it’s deceptively hard to find the perfect white tee. I tend to go for a loose fit with a round neckline, that is slightly sheer. In terms of price point, it is the perfect investment piece, but I tend to set my spending limit at £100. So with that in mind, here are my top picks of basic white tees, that will have you looking anything but basic this Summer.
