Being a sport. -

For me, summer in London means drinking pear cider, picnics and barbecues and sitting outdoors until I’ve utilized every scrap of sunshine BBC weather has offered up. I have been dutifully informed though, that for many, summer in and around London means sport. Lots of it. Wimbledon, Ascot, test cricket and now the Ashes, the Tour de France over the Channel and The Open (open what?) up in Scotland. Don’t get me wrong I loved the Olympics last year, but there I was thinking sports fever had died down a bit…clearly not.

So what’s everyone talking about at the moment? Well as I’m conveniently located near the Oval, it’s cricket.
