Paris Menswear Fashion Week: Autumn/Winter 2013

The Paris autumn/winter shows for men have drawn to a close and although I wasn’t there (I will be awaiting my invite for 2014), it would appear that the malnourished hipster-types hailing from Dalston were ahead of their time, and ankle skimming trousers have been confirmed as ‘in’.

At 5ft2, the hip bone down in most male models is in my eye and appreciation line, so rather than craning my neck to take in collar details and pocket squares, this latest trend is one I can easily appreciate.  Come rain, come shine, the foreseeable future will be all about cropped and rolled up trousers exposing the ankle bone.

Adrian Clark, style director for Shortlist, believes it to be less about the flash of the flesh and instead puts  “it all down to the statement shoe.” So I will now be on the hunt for some fancy pants which I can take up by about 6inches, some swanky socks and ornamented footwear, most probably from childplayclothing.co.uk.
