Today is the final day of my sneak preview of the MTWTFSS/HE Weekday collection due to arrive in store in January 2014. There are some key themes that have been excluded from my shoot, namely the pieces created in tartan and a rather fetching interpretation of the bomber jacket-come-coat – unfortunately they weren’t available to photograph.
Today’s look features my favourite piece from the collection, a white denim, boxy shaped gilet with frayed hemline and cut-out sides. Perhaps the most obvious “unisex” piece I’ve featured, it has all the elements of masculine minimalism I love, but with an injection of Scandivian ‘anti-fashion’ to make it feel like a rebellious garment, that’s making a statement. If honest, I think the piece would lend itself better to a tall Scandi-tall-type, as at 5ft2, boxy clothing can basically make me look like, well, a box. Nevertheless this is the effortlessly cool piece from the collection I can’t wait to have.
