OSMAN2The Osman show blew my socks off. Sadly, because it preceded the Giles and Tom Ford shows, the Bloomsbury Ballroom was rather empty for such an epic performance by the designer.

British born Osman Yousefzada, has fine design in his blood. His mother ran a couture dress making business in Birmingham, and years of craftsmanship are clear in his intricately details garments. His pieces are understated and intelligent – no need for razzle dazzle here, OSMAN is about soft and sensual draping, clean lines, well tailored pieces and beautiful, pure colours. OSMAN4The collection was inspired by the nostalgia of Indian palaces and the elegance of the maharajas and maharanis. This was conveyed with sashes and knots tied at the small of the models backs and layered skirts worn over slim tailored trousers. This easy to wear collection featured crisp whites, dusty corals and duck egg blues, as well as fiercer oranges and royal blues. In a nod to nature, a  beautiful pattern of trees adorned several of his pieces. Intricate gold and silver beading was sprinkled across the collection, and luxe denim and neoprene gave shape to otherwise breezy pieces full of natural movement. Clean, sharp white shirts were worn by dewey faced models under corsets and beaded tops, for a sleek look.OSMAN5The collection was worn with oversized, slouchy sequinned clutches.OSMAN1OSMAN3
