Trying Michael Bastian on for size

There are three main reasons you may have heard of menswear designer Michael Bastian:

1) He’s been voted one of Out Magazine’s 25 sexiest silver foxes (grrr)

2) He won the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year Award in 2011 and was nominated the three years preceding his crowning – this year he was nominated again.

3) Over the last few years he’s created standout collections with the likes of UNIQLO, GANT (for whom he also produced his first womenswear line), Havaianas and G Frost – to name a mere few.

Michael Bastian is preppy, wearable and oozes laid back New York state swagger. His inspirations vary from the Galapagos Islands, to the pastel palette of artist Helen Frankenthaler. Whatever his muse, this menswear designer promises Americana luxe pieces that are both relaxed and elegant. East Coast attitude remains the order of the day when it comes to Michael Bastian, and long may it last.
