If you think about men wearing womenswear, you’re more than likely to think of a man in drag, but the same way that a girl wearing menswear does not = butch, a man wearing womenswear does not = queen. In fact a man wearing womenswear can look incredibly on trend and sexy, and with the increasing number of unisex items on the high street and in designer collections too, the lines between what looks great on a woman versus a man are increasingly blurred.

Meet Max, a fellow blogger who shares my appreciation for gender-bending dressing. With an incredible wardrobe consisting of vintage silk shirts, bombers and high waisted trousers he is able to transform traditionally feminine pieces into his own unique (and masculine) style. Max is my new partner in crime in Stockholm, and he’ll be cropping up on Girl in Menswear on a monthly basis to show the boys how it works the other way around.

Here he is wearing a rather fly unisex sweater from Scandi brand MTWTFSS Weekday, and in true Swedish spirit (there are so many second hand stores here you wouldn’t believe it!) he’s got on a pair of vintage high-waisted woman’s jeans, and in a final nod to the 80’s, a pair of unisex Dr. Martens.DSC_1623-2DSC_1579-3 DSC_1562-2
