acetateI know you don’t see me in glasses all that often, but I’ve actually had optical assistance since I was about 12 years old. I love wearing my specs, but don’t shoot looks nearly enough with them on. After trying to insert dailies with grubby fingers cooped up in a tent at festivals , I’ve toyed more than once with getting laser surgery done, but I just don’t feel ready to cancel out my eyewear options just yet.

Glasses, after all, have fast upgraded from geek to chic. Cue hipsters bowling around their hoods in fake frames pretending to be visually impaired. Everyone seems to want in on the action, and outlandishly shaped frames are increasingly getting bigger and bolder. In fact the only problem with the facial accessory is that they are usually too expensive to buy multiple pairs, which means you often limit yourself to safer options, but eyewear brand Ace & Tate are hoping to change this.aceandtateThe founders of Ace & Tate believe you should be able to change your eyewear as often as you change your sneakers, without compromising on quality. Every frame (including lenses and shipping) will set you back £89, which is a lot less than you would pay on the high street. You would have thought that for under £100 you would have to compromise on style, but Ace & Tate have a fair selection of fashion-forward frames available, of course they are own-branded so no Raybans or Yves Saint Laurent here, but they’re stylish enough for it not to matter.

What I’m wearing: Ace & Tate glasses,  Cos shirt and jumper, H&M blazer, United Colours of Benetton coat, Topshop jeans, Gant Rugger slipcase, Teeeshit necklace.

I like how the frames you have are bold enough to make a statement and yet, they seem, in my eyes anyway, to blend naturally and bring more attention to the nuances of your face.
