ROB0011401155201_1Bonjour mes filles! I hope you “ça va” well today? As you are well aware I have a bit of penchant for shiny shoes – particularly of the flat variety. My silver school buckle-ups were strapped to my feet for the whole of last summer, but as Spring tentatively returns, I am now after a new pair to skip around Stockholm in. Cue, these leather loafers by French shoe label Robert Clergerie

Clergerie is not a new designer by any means, but since Roland Mouret’s appointment as Artistic Director in 2011, the footwear label is no longer confined to the fashion set alone. Known for marrying form with function, Clergerie’s collections are solid and sculptural with an emphasis on practicality – no toothpick thin stiletto heels here. This commitment to comfort (with no compromise on style) has won the brand fans of the likes of Carla Bruni and Michelle Obama. In general, inspiration draws from sculpture, modernist buildings and furniture, with an impeccable commitment to detail and quality. For SS14, a masculine-feminine interplay is realised on platform slip ons, studded brogues and disco loafers, with a strong 70’s vibe.

I am totally smitten with these Favane loafers…now I just need the weather to play ball.

The silver leather Favane loafer costs £435 and is available here
