A feathered affair

I have an teeny tiny Ziggy Stardust living inside me. A proper ginger mulleted, eye-patch wearing David Bowie just waiting to be unleashed at any given occasion.  Unfortunately fashioning a lightning bolt across ones face is not appropriate for most occasions, but a touch of the 80’s usually is.

Not so long ago I did a post about Original Penguin‘s feather capsule collection, and have since been the proud recipient of the line’s menswear shirt. In a size S it’s oversized on my figure, but I really like the way it looks half-tucked into my leather trousers. I’ve teemed it with my menswear River Island faux leather jacket and my ACNE boots. 

In a continuation of the feathered theme, I’m wearing a limited edition Erickson Beamon ear-cuff designed for Swedish brand MAYLA‘s AW13 collection, which was inspired by Hitchock’s iconic screenplay “The Birds”. Erickson Beamon are the jewellery designers of the moment, fashioning everyone from Michelle Obama to Lady GaGa in retro-inspired jewels. I love their eye-catching pieces, which are always designed to turn heads. Teeming my oversized ear piece with an equally oversized quiff is satisfying my inner Ziggy – for now.
