PPQ2Mascotte are the official shoe sponsors of London Fashion Week, so I was delighted when they invited me to be their social media voice for the duration of the shows. As part of their LFW partnership, the brand had designed an exclusive collection of statement heels for British design duo PPQ. As a consequence, I was invited backstage at the PPQ show to report what goes on behind the scenes and to join them for their after party to celebrate what was a seamless performance. PPQBackstagePPQ’s SS14 collection is not for the faint hearted. Womanly evening gowns, coquettish cheek-skimming mini-dresses and slinky jumpsuits with billowing trouser legs were all striking on the catwalk, and would be equally so on a red carpet. Drama is at the centre of this collection, with netted headwear sprinkled with tiny flowers perched upon retro-feel beehived hair-dos, and theatrical trains billowing behind models.

In a tropical palette of emerald greens, scarlets, deep purples and canary yellows, colours were bold and sultry. Large, bright flower prints set against a dark canvas and polka dots featured heavily. The colour code here is high-carat jewellery – the expensive stuff.SONY DSCHalter necks and off the shoulder sleeves gave the collection a retro-feel, only heightened by embellishments of fills, bows and ruffles. Bags were oversized and in patent leather, and models wore cat-eye sunglasses and gold jewellery.

The Mascotte shoes were equally eye-catching, adorned with gold buckles and sky-high heels that tangled in streams of slinky chiffon.PPQshoes
